Joseph Hoyland was born in England.

Joseph Hoyland lost a brother who was drowned in the Huskar Colliery disaster on 4-Jul-1838

Joseph was born in 1820. He was the son of Joseph Hoyland and Mary Carr. He was christened on 24 December 1820 at Silkstone, Yorkshire.[1]

His brother, Francis Hoyland, was killed in the Huskar Colliery disaster on 4-Jul-1838. Joseph was also a coal miner.

Joseph married Ann Haigh in 1847.[2]

He passed away in 1899.[3] He was buried at Silkstone, Yorkshire.[4]
