Elizabeth Dutton Hubbard was born 5 Jul 1835 in Shoreditch, Middlesex, England to Joseph John Hubbard and Mercy (Garnham) Hubbard. She was christened at Saint John the Baptist, Shoreditch, London on 7 Aug 1835.[1]
In 1841 Eliza Hubbard (age 5) lived at Brudenell Place in Shoreditch with her father Joseph (39-43), mother Mercy (33-37), and five siblings: Susannah (11), Isabella (10), Joseph (8), Penelope (3), and Louisa (1), as well as Amelia Green (13).[2]
In 1851 Elizabeth Hubbard (age 15) lived at Grove Hill Terrace in St Giles Camberwell, Surrey with her father Joseph J (49, Solicitor), mother Mercy (44), and ten siblings: Susanna (21), Isabella (20), Joseph (18, Articled Clerk), Penelope (13), Louisa (10), Thomas (8), David (7), Alice (5), Alfred (3), and Emma (2), as well as three servants: Mary Sellar (23), Martha Sellar (22), and Jane Drudge (20).[3]
In 1861 Elizabeth "Halbard" (age 2[25]) lived at Clapton East Side, St John Hackney, London with her father Joseph J (59), mother "Mary" (54), and eight siblings: Isabella (30), Penelope (22), Louisa (21), Thomas (18, Scholar), David (16, Scholar), Alice (15, Scholar), Alfred (13, Scholar), and Emma (12, Scholar), as well as two servants: Susannah Seuner (20, Housemaid) and Emma Edwards (23, Cook).[4]
In 1871 Elizabeth D Hubbard (age 35) lived in Hackney, London in the household of her brother David J (27, Solicitor), along with seven other siblings: Isabelle G (40), Penelope (33), Louisa (31), Thomas W (28, Banker Clerk), Alice S (25), Alfred E (23), and Emma (22).[5]
In 1881 Elizabeth Hubbard (age 45) lived in Eltham, London in the household of her brother David Jno (57[37], Solicitor), along with five of her sisters: Isabella G (58[50]), Penelope (43), Louisa (41), Alice (35), and Emma (30), as well as servant Angelina M Hipwell (21).[6]
In 1891 Elizabeth Hubbard (age 55, Living on Own Means) lived at Eltham Road in London with two of her sisters: Isabella (60, Living on Own Means) and Penelope (53, Living on Own Means), as well as two servants: Emma C Meeston (26, Cook) and Caroline Allen (20, Housemaid).[7]
In 1901 Elizabeth Hubbard (age 65) lived at Eltham Road in London in the household of her brother David J (57, Solicitor), along with three of her sisters: Isabella (70), Penelope (63), and Louisa (60), as well as two servants: Sarah Stewart (20, Cook) and Florence M Dowding (22, Housemaid).[8]
In 1911 Elizabeth Hubbard (age 75, Private Means) lived in Eltham, London with her sister Isabella (80, Private Means), companion Margaret Thomson (32), two sick nurses: Alice Dennis (33) and Ethel Boynes (29), and two servants: Beatrice Clark (27, Cook) and Hettie Viccars (19, Housemaid).[9]
Elizabeth passed away on 7 Sep 1918: "HUBBARD Elizabeth Dutton of Hollybank 108 Eltham-road Lee Kent spinster died 7 September 1918 Probate London 18 February to Herbert James Reeves captain H.M. Army and George Liddell Thomson retired secretary national church league. Effects £763 7s. 6d."[10] Her death was registered in Lewisham, London in the third quarter of the year.[11] She is buried at West Norwood Cemetery and Crematorium in Lambeth, London.[12]
