Biography

Daniel /Hubbard/[1]

Daniel was born about 1694. Though little is known about THIS Daniel Hubbard at this time, the profiles on Ancestry seem to be riddled with many mistakes. If the serious researcher is attempting to connect the Hubbard family in it's correct context / lineage, care must be taken to follow the correct name. In Pittsfield and Concord Counties, Massachusetts, there were SEVERAL Hubbard men with families in the same time (late 1600's to early 1700's) period, often naming children with the same given name.

Children of Daniel Hubbard and Dorothy Dakin:

  • Dorothy Hubbard: b. 24 March 1719
  • Beulah Hubbard: b. 23 December 1720
  • Martha Hubbard: b. 18 October 1722
  • Rebecca Hubbard: b. 10 June 1724
  • Daniel Hubbard: b. 18 January 1726
  • Lucy Hubbard: b. 28 September 1727
  • Elizabeth Hubbard: b. 23 October 1729
  • Zuruiah Hubbard: b. 31 March 1732
  • Persis Hubbard: b. 13 May 1735
  • Lucretia Hubbard: b. 22 April 1737
  • Jonas Hubbard: b. 21 May 1739

For the family presented here, we are following the name Zaruiah (sometimes spelled differently) who was married to JAMES SMITH first and then married Jacob Upham.

MORE INFORMATION WILL FOLLOW AS IT IS DISCOVERED.

Hubbard-903 and Hubbard-658 appear to represent the same person because: Daniel Hubbard (Hubbard-658) married Dorothy Dakin at Concord, and they recorded children there through January 1725. The first child of Daniel Hubbard (Hubbard-903) and his wife Dorothy was recorded at Worcester in 1727. The 1744 will of Joseph Dakin of Concord (Middlesex Co. PR 5731) names his daughter Dorothy Hubbard among his heirs. Therefore Hubbard-903 and Hubbard-658 should be merged and Dakin-161 and UNKNOWN-75671 should also be merged.
