Elizabeth was born about 1771. She is the daughter of John Hubbard and Keziah Pigg.

  • In the name of God Amen John Hubbard of Pittsylvania County being very sick in body, but in perfect sense and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in the following manner and form.
  • Item, I leave to my beloved wife Kezziah Hubbard the plantation where on I now live with two hundred acres of land also my Gris Mill with all my Estate both royal and personal to her for fifteen years.
  • I also appoint my son Isham Hubbard to have the sole management of the said Estate for the said term and to be paid out of the said Estate for his trouble. And after fifteen years my hole and sole Estate to be equally divided be- tween my living children and my Wife, except my Land.
  • Item, I give to my son Joseph Hubbard after the said fifteen years the Plan- tation where on I now live, his mother keeping possession her life, the said to hundred that I lent to my wife
  • Item I give to my son Isham Hubbard after the term of fifteen years my Mill and land she stands on with one hundred acres of land on the North side of my Survey.
  • Item, I give to my son Samuel Hubbard to hundred acres laid of one Pole cat Creek of Banester River.
  • Item, I give to my son Hezekiah Hubbard the remaining part of my land pattant to Samuel Emerson. Item, I give to my grandson John League the plantation his father made at the head of the Creek I live on with one hundred acres of land.
  • Item, I give to my son Davis Hubbard the remainder of my land lieing on the north side of the tract I now live on containing three hundred and fifty acres. And Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint James A. Mitchell Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all or former Wills or Test- aments by me heretofore made. Cousins At a Court held for the County of Pittsylvania the 16th day of April, 1838. This writing proporting to be the last Will and Testament of Keziah Hubbard Dec'd was presented in Court and having been opposed & contested by Walker Hodges, Fontaine Price, Reuben Payne and Tabitha his wife, Mariah Hodges, Pamelia Hodges, was fully proven by Jabez Smith, James M. Reynolds & Willis G. Cousins, three subscribing witnesses to be the last act and deed of said Decedant and ordered to be recorded and on the Motion of James A. Mitchell, the Executor in said Will named, who made oath according to Law and with Jabez Smith & Joseph Hubbard his securities entered into bond in the penalty of twelve thousand dollars conditioned as the law requires, Certificate was granted him for obtaining probat of said Will in due form.
