Obituary beside him. Jerry was born on May 17, 1921, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Irene Smith Huber and Clarence Huber, both deceased. He had three brothers, Elmer, Bob and Ernie all deceased. He has one sister Ruth still living in Lincoln, with a number of other relations. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Ann, and a daughter Shirley. His son Gerry preceded him in death in October 2007. Jerry received his education in Lincoln. He held numerous jobs in Lincoln. He met the love of his life Ann at a dance in 1939. They were married August 9, 1941. In August of 1942 Jerry was called to serve in the US Army. At the end of his military service he was stationed in Los Alamos where he was discharged in February 1945. He was hired by the Zia Company and stayed with them until his retirement in June 1987. He was involved with the Zia Credit Union for 40 years and was Chairman of the Board for 14 years. Jerry loved the outdoors and always had a garden with his tomatoes. He also loved to work with wood and make items. Jerry and Ann remodeled the inside of their home when he retired. Jerry was also a great football fan. His college team was the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His two pro teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. ^[7]
