Biography

Jean Hebert, son of Étienne Hébert and Marie Gaudet, was born around 1659^[1], probably in Port-Royal.

Jean was listed in the first Acadian census of 1671 in Port-Royal at age 13.^[2]

In 1686. at Port Royal, Jean HEBERT, aged 27, was living alone and still single.^[3]

Jean (32) married Jeanne Doiron (15) (born about 1676 in Pisiquit, Acadie, Nouvelle-France; daughter of Jean Doiron and Marie-Anne Canol) in 1692 in Acadie.^[1] Their known children were:

The next year, in the 1693 census, they were listed as living in Les Mines with their 18-month-old Charles.^[4] Their growing family was enumerated again at Les Mines in 1701^[5] and 1707^[6] Before 1714 they settled in Pisiguit.^[7]

Jean died in 1744. ^[8]
