Dr. Richard Huck-Saunders was born Richard Huck in Westmorland. He served in the Army as a surgeon and received his MD degree from Marischal College, Aberdeen 13 Oct 1749. He was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians on the 1st of Apr 1765, elected fellow 18 Sep 1784, and a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1768.
In 1777 he married Jane Kinsey (d. 1780), niece and heir of Admiral Sir Charles Saunders and assumed the arms and name Saunders. They had two daughters Anne who married in Aug 1796 Robert Dundas, 2nd Viscount Melville and Jane, who married in 1800 as his 2nd wife John Fane, 10th Earl of Westmorland. [1]
Richard died 24 July 1785.
