Biography

James Huckel was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

James Ernest Huckel was born in 1891 in Grenfell, Colony of New South Wales, the son of Mary Ann Huckel and James Huckel.[1]

James Huckel married Lillian Emelia Pepper in Grenfell, New South Wales in 1921.[2]

At the time of his mother's death in 1931, James was living in Bogolong, New South Wales.[3]

Their children were, Edwin, Pauline, Mavis, Mary, Valmai and Glenda.

James Huckel passed away in Grenfell, New South Wales in 1956.[4]

  • Glenda Dykes, researcher and author of "Pictures of Many Years" is this gentlemans daughter.
  • James Huckel, according to Glenda Dykes, always spoke of his cousin Billy Grime, fighter,boxer..I have established that they were 2nd cousins through their mother's Casey connection. Sarah Grime was the daughter of Bridget Morgan and Mary Harcombe was the daughter of Catherine Harcombe, and they were sisters.
  • Mavis Huckel died aged 12 years.
