Ruby Lee Shipley was born on December 3, 1911 in Springfield, Greene, Missouri to William Huddleston and Rosella Engle.

She married Alfred Shipley on December 19, 1930 in Logan, Harrison, Iowa^[1]. They had two children:

• James Lee Shipley born April 25, 1932 in San Diego^[2]
• Patricia Ann Shipley born January 28, 1939 in National City^[3]

Ruby died on January 27, 2004 in San Diego, San Diego, California at the age of ninety-two^[4]. She is buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego^[5].
