Daniel is presumably the son of William Hudson of Epping, Essex, England and an unnamed mother of a second marriage after the death of his first wife Anne Tankard. His birthdate is estimated to be sometime in 1588 and date of death 1646 in Roswell, Essex, England. Daniel had three half-siblings through his father William and Ann Tankard; Ralph, William II, and John Hudson.
Daniel Hudson married as her second husband, Anne Josselyn daughter of Ralph Josselyn and Mary Bright; and had five children, Elizabeth, John, Simon, William and Daniel.
