She was the daughter of Mary and Commander Edward Charles Hudson RN of Carlisle, Cumberland.
In the 1841 British Census she was aged 20 and living with her mother, two sisters and two servants in George Street, Wigton, Cumberlandshire.
In the 1851 British Census she was a Fund Holder (aged 30) living with her mother, sister and a servant in Cross Mead, Dunsford Road, Exeter, Devonshire.
In the 1861 British Census she was a Fund Holder (aged 40) livingwith her mother, married sister and a servant in Cross Mead, Dunsford Road, Exeter, Devonshire.
On 16 June 1863 she married Bishop John Medley DD, Bishop of Fredericton, New Brunswick, later Metropolitan of Canada, a widower with five surviving children and they had no children. He died in 1892 and was buried in Fredericton Cathedral.
She died on 26 February 1905 in Fredericton and was buried with her husband in Fredericton Cathedral.
