Peter was born in 1723. He was the son of Peter Hudson and Martha Briggs. He passed away on Feb 27, 1804.

(Halifax County, Va Will Book 6, pages 605-606, dated 20 Mar 1803)

In the name of God amen I Peter Hudson of Halifax County, and State of Virginia, being in my perfect sound [ ] and memory, but not knowing the hour of death as the appointed one for all men tody, do make this my last will and testament in manner form as herewith. Item I give to five of my children, five shillings each, to witt, Susannah Holland, Tabatha Womack, Sarah Vasser, Charles Hudson, an d Peter Hudson. Item I give to my son Greif Hudson and Patty Owen one cow and calf each--Item I give to my loving wife Mourning Hudson all my estate real and personal, during her life, after my just debts are paid, and after her death, I give to my son William Hudson, the tract of land whereon I live, containing one hundred and twenty acres more or less and all my personal estate to him and his heirs forever. I now conclude with .... my body to the earth to be decently buried, at the discretion of my wife Mourning Hudson, and son William Hudson. Lastly I do appoint my loving son William Hudson ...to my estate, hoping he will serve ... and truly.

Witness my hand and seal this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & three.

At a Court held for Halifax County the 27th of February 1804
The within written last will and Testament of Peter Hudson deceased was exhibited in Court, and proved by the oath of two of the witnesses therein subscribed--and directed to be recorded--And on the motion of William Hudson the executor therein named who made oath according to Law, Certificate is granted him for obtaining probate therein in due form, He giving security- Whereupon he together wit h Grief Hudson and Daniel Owen his securties, entered into, and acknowledged their bond in the penealty of one thousand dollars--conditioned as the Law directs
