Martin was born in March 27, 1827 in Windsor, Windsor County, Vermont. He was the husband of Ada C. Ware Hudson; who immigrated to the U.S. from Wales, England as a young girl. They had two children; Alfred Clyde Hudson and Raymond Hudson.

World War I

Martin was born after the Civil War era; lived to see the industrializaton era, expansion of technology, and invention of the automobile and airplane. He also lived through the horrors of both; World War I and World War II. He would live long enough to see beginning of the Civil Rights movement in America; passing away on March 1, 1961.
