The clearest evidence for Frederick HOFF is the census records of Allegany Co, MD, where he lived the latter part of his life at Selbysport in what was the 2d Electoral District. He apparently lived with his son Abraham without a wife, in 1840 and 1850. Ch prob incl:

Samuel was a mill-wright in 1850 in Allegany Co, MD, but he had moved west afterwards. The youngest son, William HOFF, may have lived in Oskaloosa at one time. A William HOFF was buried at South English, IA, but it may be a different person.

e. Isaac ( ) listed by descendants. In 1830, an Isaac HOFF was in Allegany Co, MD, with 10001-10001. He could have been son of either Frederick or Elisha HUFF.
f & g. Census records indicate there may have been two daughters.
Hoff lineage is Frederick Hoff of PA and MD; (The family tradition is that the father of Frederick was Frederick Hoff, Sr, who came to America in July 1780, at the age of 33 years to fight in the Revolutionary War. It is possible with this description that he was a Hessian soldier who elected to stay in America. This family tradition was recorded by the oldest son of George Washington HOFF, who also had a son Bill HOFF.)
