According to FamilySearch data, Jonathan Elliott married Amelia Huff in Dublin, Wayne County, Indiana on 24 Apr 1834.
Amelia died on the 26th of June, 1847, 22 days after twin infants James and Jane, who were both born on May 22, 1847 and both died on June 4, 1847. However, the FamilySearch death data is apparently incorrect for Jane, as she appeared on the 1850 Census with a corresponding birth timeframe that indicates she is this child.
Jonathan married Maria M. Maxwell 17 Aug 1848 in West Grove, Wayne County, Indiana.
The following census record shows Amelia's children (all listed as born before 1848, which excludes 1 year old John). The United States Census, 1850[1] found Jonathan Elliott, a white male age 42, living in North Carolina. Jonathan was a farmer and owned real estate worth $1500. The other residents of the household were as follows:
