Johann Friederich was born in 1734. He was a son of Paulus Huff and Maria Elizabeth Weber, and the husband of Susanna Keim. He passed away in 1816.[1]

John Frederick VON HOOF (8 Jul 1734 Kurfurstmithum, Zweibrucken, Germany - 26 Apr 1816 Berks Co, PA), son of Paulus and Maria Elizabeth VON HOOF, came to America as a young man and was a farmer in Berks Co, PA. At some time, he changed his name to HUFF. On 21 Oct 1757 in PA he md Susanna KEIM (25 Dec 1739 PA - 12 May 1809 PA), dau of Johannes and Mary Elizabeth ( ) KEIM of Reading, PA. Both are bur. in an old cemetery between Seisoltzville and Huff's Church on Rauch's farm.
Abstract of the will of HUFF, FREDERICK, SR., Hereford. February 16, 1808 - May 24, 1816. [Dates are will written and will proved.] Provides for wife Susanna. Children: Barbara wife of Abrham MENSCH, Samuel HUFF, John HUFF, Susanna wife of Jacob STAUFFER, Catharine wife of John ROTHERMEL, Elizabeth wife of George HOFFMAN, Frederick HUFF and George HUFF. Also Maria wife of John LEIBENSBERGER is to have 5 shillings. Exrs: Son George and son-in-law Jacob STAUFFER. Wit: Conrad FOGLEY and Matthias RICHARDS, Jr. Codicil gives £50 to Catharine MEYER, wife of Henry HUFF, second codicil dated December 22, 1809. Wit: Thomas MOLL and Joseph WORMAN.[2]

A descendant searched for a record of the immigrant John Frederick VON HOOF, but could not find it. He concluded that the immigrant was more likely the father, Paul VON HOFF.
Huff lineage is John Frederick VON HOOF and Susanna (Keim) of Germany and PA; Paulus and Marie Elizabeth ( ) VON HOOF of Germany; (In spite of missing generations, there are assertions that Paulus descended from Ernst VON HOOF, whose ancestor, one Baldwin VON HOOF, was killed while storming Jerusalem in 1099 during one of the Crusades. Because of the Von Hoof coat of arms, it is believed they were of French ancestry.)
Hereford Township: From village of Huffs Church, west on Huffs Church Rd .. 1 mile right on dirt lane (Bob White Rd.) adjoining eastern end of cemetery .5 mile, then right on dirt lane leading to Hunter Forge Rd. Just before abandoned farm house). Site situated in woods beyond tree line along ridge on left. This is one beautiful view; the church itself can be seen from this site at the top of the field. Size: reported to be 75' x 90'; more likely 75' x 150' History: Owned by the Rauch family for 123 years. It used to be owned by Robert Reichard of Allentown. Gravemarkers and inscriptions: 7 inscribed stones, 7 fieldstones, evidence of many more graves. The present owner said the Menonites moved their own graves to Bally and left those of other faith to remain.
