Biography
Carl was born in 1862 in Warsaw, Poland[1] (then part of the Russian Empire).[2][3] His parents were Michael Huff and Christine Breier.[4] He married Pauline Lechelt in 1890 in the Russian Empire.[2][3][1][4] They emigrated to Canada in 1892, settling in Alberta.[1] He died in 1945 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada.[2][1]

Carl Huff was born 23 Apr 1862 in Warsaw, Poland [then part in the Russian Empire]. He married Pauline Lechelt on 27 Dec 1890 in Russia. He emigrated to Canada with Pauline in 1892. He died 4 Nov 1945 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and is buried at the Wetaskiwin Cemetery.[1]
Pauline Lechelt (17) married Carl Huff (27) on 27 Dec 1890 in Rozyszcze. Pauline's parents were Carl Lechelt & Erdmine Schneider. Carl's parents were Michael Huff & Christine Breier.[4]
Carl (38, Mar 1863) and Pauline (28, 2 Nov 1872) Huff are enumerated in the 1901 Census farming at Conjuring Creek, Alberta, Northwest Territories. The children are: Grusteane (8, 8 Aug 1892), Gottlieb (6, 17 Jul 1894), Eatienne (4, 17 Sep 1896), and Emil G. (11 mos, 5 Apr 1899. Carl and Pauline were born in Russia, both are of German racial origin. Their immigration year is 1892, naturalization is hard to read. The children were all born in Alberta. Everyone speaks German and is Lutheran.[3]

He married Pauline Lechelt Huff 1872–1947. Their children included: George Antone Huff 1894–1964, Lillian Lydia Huff Swartz 1902–1996, and Ronald E. Huff 1908–1936.[2]
Carl (53) and Paulina (43) were enumerated in the 1916 Census of the Prairie Provinces. They were living at 10733 - 76 Ave in Edmonton, Alberta with their children: Amiel (18), Lydia (14), Albertina (12), Rainhold (6) and Jessie (4). Christina is shown but crossed out. Carl and Paulina were both born in Russian Poland. They emigrated to Canada in 1892 and were naturalized in 1896. All the children were born in Alberta. Everyone's racial origin is Russian and they speak German.[5]
