Biography

Laban Huffman was born on June 26, 1812 on his family's farm in rural Pendleton County, Virginia, USA. The area became part of West Virginia in 1863 as it refused to secede from the Union with the eastern portions of Virginia. According to his death record, Laban's father was Christian Huffman; his mother's name is not known. [1]

Farmer Laban Huffman married Mary Bonner on March 7, 1844, in rural Pendleton County, Virginia (it became part of West Virginia in 1863). [2]

On the June 1850 US Census, Laban & Mary Huffman's household looked like this: [3]

Laban Huffman, 70 years old, died on May 4, 1881 on his farm in Pendleton County, West Virginia, USA. [4] His widow, Mary (Bonner) Huffman survived his passing but just for over one month. She died on June 29, 1881 on the family farm. She was 63 years old.[5] The couple were buried next to each other at the Huffman Cemetery, Pendleton County, West Virginia, USA. [6] [7]
