Elizabeth Hughes was born on 9 March 1884 in Michigan, United States. ^[1] to Philip Hughes and Charlotte Lentz. She married Peter Hein. Elizabeth passed away on 22 February 1974, and she is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan, United States. ^[2]

Elizabeth's obituary reads: "Mrs. Elizabeth Hein, aged 89, widow of Peter Hein, of 1254 College Ave. NE, passed away Friday night in St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Hein is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William (Cleo) Carroll; three brothers, George L., Frank J. and Robert Hughes; a sister-in-law, Mrs. LaVina Hughes, all of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be offered Monday at 9 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Mrs. Hein reposes at the Alt Mortuary where members of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Family and friends will recite the Rosary Sunday evening at 7:30. Friends may meet the family at the mortuary Saturday 7 to 9 and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9." ^[3]
