Biography
Mary, daughter of Thomas Hughes and Margaret Livingstone, born County Down, Ireland. Emigrated with her family about 1827 to South Sherbrooke Twp. She married John William Johnston 31 July 1838 and until at least 1845, they farmed lot 13 conc 11 next to her parents. Known children born here: William 1841, Margaret 1843, Thomas 1845 and Robert,1848. The family moved to lot 22 conc 10 Olden Twp Frontenac, where other children were born: John H 1851, Loftus 1854 and Joseph 1858, [1] Her husband John died in 1900, and Mary in 1904. They are buried together in Anglican cemetery at Lot 22 Conc 1 Oso Twp
