HUGHES , Ruby P. 12 Aug 1931. Aged 31 years. Wife of Jack, mother of Jean and Dorothy. Anglican A.75
(1907). IN MEMORIAM. HUGHES.—In sad and loving memory of our dear mother, Annie Hughes, who died on July 6, 1906, aged 47 years. A heart as true as ever beat has passed away from earth, / But memory dwells within the hearts of those who knew her worth, / The voice we loved is now laid low, her fond true heart is still, / Those hands that often helped us so lie now in death's cold chill, / In her calm, quiet grave she is sleeping, / Oh loved one, the dearest and best, / Hushed, hushed be all sorrow and weeping, / For our dear mother is only at rest. / And art thou dead dear mother, art thou dead? / Thy daughters' tears cannot raise thy falling head, / But may we meet, in that eternal home, / Where sickness, pain, and sorrow cannot come.—Inserted by her loving daughters, Sarah and Margaret Hughes.
(1907). IN MEMORIAM. HUGHES.—In loving memory of my dear sister, Annie Hughes, who died at Collie on July 6, 1906. 'Tis hard to break the tender cord, / When love has bound the heart, / 'Tis hard, so hard, to speak the word, / We for a time must part, / Dearest loved one, we have laid thee, / In the peaceful grave's embrace, / But thy memory will be cherished, / Till we see thy heavenly face.—Inserted by her loving sister and brother-in- law, E. and W. Hughes. The West Australian (Perth, WA : 1879 - 1954) Sat 6 Jul 1907, Page 1: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/25707132
