Biography

Amanda was born December 1844 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Allen Hughes and Narcissa Unknown.

On June 6, 1861 she married William A. Brady in Rhea County, Tennessee. [1]

She passed away sometime after January 1, 1920 the date she was enumerated on the 1920 census in Grayson County, Texas. Amanda was laid to rest in Liberty Cemetery, Gordonville, Grayson, Texas, United States. [2]

Research Notes

Her findagrave memorial lists she was born Dec 1840 which is the date listed on the 1900 census. She is listed as 5 years of age on the 1850 census making her birth year about 1844 not 1840. In 1860 she is listed born about 1843, 1870 she is listed born about 1845, 1880 she is listed born in 1854 which is way off, 1910 she is listed as being born in 1844 and 1845 in 1920.
