Biography
From Memoirs of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania:
Benjamin W. Hughes as the only survivor. He was born in West Deer township, Allegheny Co., Pa., April 8, 1858, and at his father's death inherited the home farm with all its equipments.Mr. Hughes has never married, but makes amends for this fault, if it be one, by furnishing his friends an excellent example of the model bachelor.
