Biography

Owen was born in 1811 in Pentraeth, Anglesey on 8 February. He is the son of William Hughes and Mary Owen (abt.1790-bef.1851). He was baptised 12 January 1812 in Pentraeth. [1]

Married

He was married on 15 Oct 1844 to servant, Margaret (Pritchard) Prichard (abt.1812-). William, a weaver, is cited as his father and they are living at Gors, Pentraeth (The Hughes family home). Owen was 32 yrs and a labourer at this time.[2]

On the 1851 census, Owen is living in Pentraeth and is a labourer, aged 39 years. He has a wife Margaret with him (37 yrs) and Children, Elizabeth (6yrs) [3]
