Biography
Maria Emily Hughes Mahoney was the sixth child and fourth daughter of Simon Hughes and Ellen Emily Shepherd. She was married by the Bishop of Bytown to James Mahoney. She was the mother of 11 children. After they were grown, she moved to Michigan with her brother, Thomas Hughes.
1871 Census
She was enumerated as Maria Emely Mahoney age 28 in the 1871 census of Canada in the Province of Quebec, Ottawa West, District 93, Low Subdistrict.[1]
1881 Census
She was enumerated as Maria E. Mahoney age 32 in the 1881 census of Canada in the Province of Quebec, Ottawa, District 97, Lowe Subdistrict.[2]
1891 Census
She was enumerated as Maria Mahoney age 44 in the 1891 census of Canada in the Province of Quebec, Ottawa, District 175, Low Subdistrict.[3]
Death
The death certificate for Maria Emuly Mahoney states she died 15 MAR 1919 in Home, Montcalm, MI[4]
