Tobitha Elizabeth Hughes was born March 17, 1813, in Virginia, a daughter of Ismael Hughes and Susannah Elizabeth Kincheloe. In 1830, Tobitha married George W. Wilcox, born March, 1808, in Muhlenberg county, Kentucky. Children of Tobitha and George are:

• Roanna Wilcox, born October 4, 1832, died April 7, 1917, in Greenville, Muhlenberg county, Kentucky, married Henry L. Hays 1833-1898

• Lucinda K. Wilcox, born April 20, 1834, died February 26, 1907, in Muhlenberg county, married William Riley Cobb, in 1851

• William H. Wilcox, born May 3, 1836, died July 24, 1917, in Ohio county, Kentucky, married Mary Ann Adkins, 1829-1912
