Biography

By trade, Jeff was an Locomotive Engineer. Worked at Sierra Weapons Depot, Herlong, California, lived in Susanville, Califorma, Navajo County, Arizona, Saltville, Washington County, Virginia.

Jefferson Hines "Jeff" Hughes was born on the 6th of September 1889 in Mitchell, North Carolina. He was the son of Sydney "Spence" Hughes and Phoebe Ann (Tipton) Hughes.

Jeff first married Annie Webb. Together they had Jeff and Annie had at least three children:

1. Blaine Hughes
2. Sarah Hughes
3. J. Hughes

Annie died shortly after their third child was born. Jeff then married Annie Webb. Together they had at least two children:

1. Frank Hughes
2. Alice Hughes

Jeff died in February 1974 in Hallwood, Washington County, Virginia.
