Married on the 4th November 1939 Shaftsbury, Vermont.
He was in the 66 Division/17th. Airborne Glider Troops and did not participate in the D Day invasion, but was held in reserve. They went over (in gliders) on Operation Varsity to provide reinforcements for the Battle of the Bulge. He did see action in France and Belgium. He was in the fox holes of the Ardense (sp) Forest and was shot in Bastigone, Belgium on Christmas Eve 1944. He never told me about what actually happened to him that night until the 50th Anniversary of the Bulge! (Quote from his son Howard).
