Obituary
Last Rites Held At Hughey Tuesday Afternoon For Mrs. Cannie H. Barnes. Mrs. Cannie Hughey Barnes, 91, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. A. Smith, near Hughey, on Monday following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Hughey Methodist Church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. W. C. Folks and the Rev. T. A. Church officiated, and burial was in the Barnes graveyard.
Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late Harrison and Elizabeth Hampton Hughey, and had spent her entire life in Lincoln County. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
In addition to Mrs. Smith, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Bessie Erwin of Boonshill; three sons, Joe Barnes of Fayetteville, Baxter Barnes of Roseburg, Oregan, and Harrison Barnes of Nashville; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Lincoln County News, Fayetteville, Tennessee
