Death

Not long before 27 Nov 1817

The slave registers of her last husband, Jacobus Jordaan, mention that on 27 Nov 1817 two slaves were sold at auction because they were jointly owned with the then deceased Rachel Hugo, but they were then also bought 'back' by Jacobus, as he wanted to keep these two for himself.

Interesting fact: these slaves were registered under his name only, but clearly, they were jointly owned, like the whole farm of De Doorns, that came via Rachel's first marriage. It seems that Jacobus wanted to make sure that his Rossouw step-children got their proper part from the value of her inheritence?

What is wrong, that her children with Jacobus Jordaan don't show up here?

Children linked to Hugot-7 not this profile............

If I hover over the children's names, I get both parents though. I'd expect the mother missing if that link were not there.

It's a PPP problem: I just tried to add one of her Jordaan children to her, but that gets refused because her profile is protected. Could you get this fixed?

I'm still wondering who added those children, and how they could 'add' both parents to the children, while the mother's profile doesn't 'have' them as child. This is a two-way relation, but it was connected only in one direction. I'm surprised that is even possible.

More research in the form of more records is needed before merging the two profiles.
Hugo-941 and Hugo-412 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicates. Hugo-412 already existed.
