His parents were married in 1754 in Fairfield, Connecticut. He was baptized in 1755 in Fairfield. His siblings were baptized in Redding, Connecticut (from 1757 to 1766). He married Bathena Norton.[2][3]
Families of Old Fairfield states that his parents removed to near Poughkeepsie, New York. Samuel removed to Marion, Smyth County, Virginia.[4]
Hull Family of America states that Samuel Hull lived for a short time in Ulster County, New York and in 1789 moved to Virginia.[5]
Hull Family of America states that Samuel Hull died in 1803.[6]

Although the death dates shown in the data section of these profiles do not currently match (1803 versus 1831), the 1803 death date is more likely to be correct. The data section of Hull-2460 shows a death date of about 1831 that is attributed to an Ancestry.com Historical Person Search that is no longer valid (the link cited for the Historical Person Search currently returns results for an entirely different Samuel Hull, (i.e., b. 1830, d. 1878 in Missouri, m. Martha Reid)). It should be noted that the biography section of Hull-2460 also mentions the 1803 death date that is shown in Weygant's book, "The Hull Family in America".
