Connecticut Records and Genealogies
Comment on Vital Records and Family Genealogies:
Early Connecticut Town Records have been collected and made available in several formats. Index cards were used to copy this data and are known as the Barbour Collection which is available on microfilm (in the Connecticut State Library and Family History Library, among other places). This collection has been compiled and printed. One series of books was edited by Lorraine Cook White. Some of the town records have been transcribed and placed online (including on a website created by Jane Devlin has been continued by her family: http://dunhamwilcox.net/)
From the raw vital records, many genealogies have been written. Some are by location, such as the Families of Ancient New Haven by Jacobus. Others are by family, such as The Hull family in America by Weygant. The article in The American Genealogist on the Bronson family is viewable online for subscribers of American Ancestors (New England Historic Genealogical Society).

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:
