There are several sources that identify Robert Hull instead of Edward Hull as the wife of Mary Weeden. This error first appeared under the heading "New Shoreham Births and Deaths" on page 27 of Vital record of Rhode Island : 1636-1850, Volume 4 published in 1893.[1] The phrase "of Robert and Mary" in the entry for Alice Hull (born 1764) and five of her siblings should instead be "of Edward and Mary" (referring to Edward Hull and Mary Weeden).
In contrast, the page listing "Jamestown Marriages" does correctly show "Edward Hull" as the husband of Mary Weeden.[1]
References to several alternative sources that were not derived from the faulty Vital record of Rhode Island page have been added to this profile and they correctly show Edward Hull as the husband of Mary Weeden and the father of their children.[2][3][4]
New Shoreham, Births and Deaths, Page 27: Under a line that identifies the parents as Robert Hull and Thankful: "Edward, March 1, 1741-2". This page also includes an entry for "Alice [Hull], born Oct. 28, 1764" that incorrectly identifies her parents with the phrase "of Robert and Mary" when in fact her parents were "Edward [Hull]and Mary [Weeden]". The page also lists five of Alice's siblings.
