Research Notes

Her Pennsylvania Death Certificate viewable on ancestry.com states Hannah Kiterah Hull was born 20 Aug 1847 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Isaac Hull and Margaret R. Diller, both born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She died 3 Jan 1911 in borough of New Holland, Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Her tombstone has her name as Hannah Kitterah Hull. An obituary transcribed on findagrave stated that she was more familiarly known as Dollie Hull. The obituary also stated that she was born in New Holland and had been a most consistent member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Findagrave states the obituary was in the New Holland Clarion, Saturday, January 7, 1911, page 1.

Her name was not Hannah Roland Hull. The Dillard Family book lists the children of Margaret and Isaac Hull, but a missing comma has led to misinterpretation. The book states: children named Hannah Roland, Laura, Charles, Harry, Margaret and Vogan.

Her brother Roland Hull was born on 7 Apr 1849 and died 8 Sep 1898 (and was buried in Trinity Cemetery.)

Is she descended from or named after Hannah Kittera Holl (1788-1843) buried in Reidenbach Mennonite Cemetery in New Holland, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania? Her family name appeared as Holl through the 1860 census and Hull beginning with the 1870 census.

The book The Diller Family left out a comma between the names of siblings Hannah and Roland. Roland was born about 1849 and Hannah was born 20 Aug 1847 and died 3 Jan 1911. She was buried in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Lancaster PA. Findagrave has a copy of death certificate and transcription of obituary; memorial # 118433881
