Verner was the son of Joseph Hume and Rebecca Benefiel.[1]
"V. L. Hume youngest child, born April 17, 1875; educated in Doniphan high school. Married Delle Vise, has four children as follows: Marie, Madaline, Norman and Joseph; lives at Purman, Missouri."[2]
He was a Corporal Sergeant in Company E, 6 Missouri Infantry during the Spanish War.[3]
Verner, a carpenter, passed away in Missouri in 1917, from tetanus following a fall from a scaffold.[4]
