Andrew W Humphrey was born in 1838 in Harrison County, Kentucky, United States, son of William Humphrey and Sarah (Wolf) Humphrey.

Andrew married Margaret McClure on 19 Oct 1860 in Harrison, Kentucky.[1] Their children were:

  1. Anna Buriann (Humphrey) Richardson
  2. Quince Clemens Humphrey
  3. Thomas Jefferson Humphrey
  4. Jacob Humphrey.
Private Andy Humphrey served in the United States Civil War.

Andrew served in the 4th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Confederate) during the Civil War.[2]

Andrew died in 1905 in Owen County, Kentucky. He is buried in Cap Anderson Cemetery, Brandenburg, Meade County, Kentucky, USA.[3]

  • Family appears twice in 1880 census.
  • Birth and death need further research - FG reports similar dates but different locations. Conflation? (Also an interesting newspaper transcription of his death on FG memorial - unable to locate newssource on-line as yet.
