The Birth and Death Dates are a rough estimate. See the text for details.
Elizabeth (Humphrey) Stockdale was born in Norfolk, England.
Elizabeth Humphrey was born about 1791 and lived in the Parish of West Walton in Norfolk County, England. On August 25th, 1811 she published her first banns of marriage with Samuel Stockdale, a bachelor from the neighboring parish of Walpole St. Peter. Following three weekly public announcements, the couple were wed on September 17th in Elizabeth's parish by Curate William Mair. Susannah Stockdale (presumably Samuel's mother or sister) and Elizabeth Horspool witnessed the marriage.

Research Notes
Date of Birth - Elizabeth was listed as 42 years old at the time of her death in 1833, suggesting an 1791 date of birth.
Lineage - Elizabeth's 1811 marriage record states that she was a resident of the Parish of West Walton. Assuming that she was born theree points to a 1791 baptismal record for Elizabeth, daughter of William Humphrey and Ann Bridgestock. This is the only baptism recorded in West Walton throughout the 18th century. John Humphrey was taxed in West Walton starting in 1805 through 1827.[citation needed]
