Elizabeth HUMPHREY was born on the 5 January 1754. She was baptised in the same year on the 20 January in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, England. Her parents were Bartholomew and Ann HUMPHREY. Her father's name was spelt Battiol. HUMFREY in the baptism register. [1]
Marriage
On the 29 November 1769, Elizabeth married George SEABROOK in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England. Elizabeth was of the parish of Harpenden. Redbourn was George's parish. They were married by Licence. The witnesses were John HOWARD and Batholomew HUMPHREY. [2]
Last Years
On the 4 March 1833, Elizabeth, a widow, made her last will [3]. The summary of Elizabeth's will was as follows:
The will of Elizabeth Seabrook late of Saint Peters Street Saint Albans, widow. She bequeathed the following legacies to her several children;
to George SEABROOK of Beeson End Farm in the parish of Redbourn Hertford farmer one hundred pounds,
to John SEABROOK, of Bakers Farm in the parish of Redbourn Hertford farmer one hundred pounds,
to Elizabeth SEABROOK, widow of George SEARBROOK of Dane Farm in the parish of Wheathampstead Hertford farmer two hundred pounds,
to Ann SAUNDERS, of East Brook Hay in the parish of Hemel Hempstead Hertford widow of John SAUNDERS two hundred pounds,
to Rose CLARK widow of William CLARK, of Redbourn one hundred pounds,
all ready money in the public stocks and funds, securities from mortgages and debts owing to Elizabeth or her estate, household goods and furniture, plate, china, woollen bedding, books, prints, provisions and all property to Eleanor CLARK now living with me widow of Thomas CLARK universal residuary legatee and executrix.
Elizabeth passed away on the 24 Nov 1833. She was buried in the churchyard [4] of Saint Mary, Redbourn, Hertfordshire, England on the 2 December 1833. Her abode was Saint Peter's, Saint Albans, Hertfordshire. She was 82. [5] She was buried with her husband and their grave was in a section next to the church. [6]
The will was proved in London on the 22 January 1834 by the oath of Eleanor CLARK widow the daughter the executrix.
