Lowell D. HUMPHREYS was born October 3, 1929 in Hanover Township, Ohio, the son of Marion W. "Red" Humphreys and Thelma Mae Davis. He died May 12, 2011 in Zephyrhills, Florida at age 82. His wife, Frances Louise HUMPHREYS, born May 31, 1926, died Nov 14, 1999 in FL. Both were buried in Florida Nat'l Cemetery.
His mother, Thelma, was the first born of Garland Davis and Nova Lutz. In 1928 she married Marion Humphrey. They had 2 children, Lowell in 1929 and Mary Lou 1931. After divorcing Marion, she married Harold Gantz in 1934. They had a daughter, Barbara, in 1936. Thelma died during childbirth, April 20, 1938 in Alliance, Ohio
In 1950 Lowell enlisted in the US Navy and in 1952 he moved to submarines and served in Korea. He was a member of Zephyr Christian Church and the Elks Club of Zephyrhills, Fl.
