Margyry, daughter of Raynold Umfery, was baptized 25 May 1572 at St. Margaret's in Horsmonden, Kent, England.[1][2] The name of her mother is not known.
Margery married Richard Willard as his second wife. A marriage record extracted from "Canterbury Marriage Licenses, 1st Series" (1892) states: "Willard, Richard, of Horsmonden, yeoman, and Margery Humfrie of Marden, virgin, at Westgate, Sep. 23, 1601".[3] She is probably the sister of the "Thomas Humferie my Brother in Lawe" mentioned in Richard's 1616/7 will.[4] They had the following children baptized at Horsmonden:
Margery, baptized 6 November 1602; married Dolar Davis and removed to New England[5][6][7]
Simon, baptized 7 April 1605,[5][6] removed to New England in 1634, died April 1676, married twice and had 15 children[8]
