Biography

Estate of Benjamin Humphries was administered by his near neighbor, Elias Turner. Elias even married the widow, and assumed guardianship for the two children, William Humphries and Armind Humphries.

Power-of-Attorney made 1813 in Henderson County, Kentucky. This entrusted Asa Turner, brother of Elias Turner, to travel to North Carolina to sell the land (approximately 123 acres) that had belonged to Benjamin Humphries. Power-of-Attorney was signed/marked by Elias and Mary Turner, William Humphries, Phillip and "Army" Underwood.
