OBITUARY
'JOHN C. HUMPHRIES
The death has occurred at Narrabri, of John C. Humphries, at the age of 69 years, after 38 years of country newspaper life. Born near Coonamble, Mr Humphries commenced as a school teacher at Collybluie, but after a few years left the Education Department.. At Collarenebri, he owned and conducted the first newspaper, the "Chronicle" for about three years. He was later identified with newspapers at Narribri, Wee Waa and Boggabri.
