Catherine Humphries was born on 22 Dec 1807 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia as the fourth child of Patrick Humphries and Catherine Mooney.

Catherine was baptized on 24 Jan 1808 [1]in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia (St. John's Anglican Church).

She had six siblings, namely: Michael, John Bartholomew, Thomas, George, Ann, and David.

When she was 16, she married John Hopkins on 20 Apr 1824 at t St Matthew's, Church of England [2] in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia.

John Hopkins and Catherine Humphries had the following children:
