Wilma Helen Hunley was born in Acme, Alberta on September 6, 1920. She was the daughter of James Edgar Hunley and his wife Esta May.
Helen served as town councilor from 1960 to 1966 and then mayor of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta from 1966 to 1971. She served as a member of the Legislative Assembly for Rocky Mountain House from 1971 to 1979. She served as Lieutenant Governor of Alberta from January 22, 1985 to March 11, 1991.
Helen died in Rocky Mountain House on October 22, 2010.
