Mary Meyer Hunsaker was born in Switzerland on September 10, 1720, to Hartman and Anna (Stirtz) Hunsaker, who were Mennonites. In 1728, "it is reported that the Swiss government, which was the Rominish Church, confiscated all Mennonite land and jailed and deported all suspected Mennonites."[1] Her father was one of those jailed and then deported with his family. Her brother and sister, Hannes and Catherine, were born in Wiesbaden, Germany, where the family went before seeking refuge in America. They arrived in Pennsylvania on September 10, 1731, aboard the "Pennsylvania Merchant Ship" from Rotterdam. Mary Meyer Hunsaker married Gaspar Roland in Pennsylvania in 1742. She died after 1762 in Drake Creek (Warren County), Kentucky.[2]
Some researchers think her father was married twice and that Catherine is the daughter of the second wife. This doesn't make a lot of sense, since his wife Anna is shown on the ship's list, survived him, and remarried after his death. (Athey-67)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Hunsaker-1101 and Hunsaker-45 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly the same person. I think I adopted 1101 at some point. There is some DNA evidence indicating the was the mother of Elizabeth Roland. In any event 1101 should be merged into 45.
The protection for this profile was to preserve the spelling of Hunsaker. It looks like that protection is no longer needed & the PPP can be removed. I no longer can do this (I've retired as a Project Leader), so I'll ask in G2G.
Hunsaker-477 and Hunsaker-45 appear to represent the same person because: Looks like a good match. both profiles have the same father listed. looks like correct birth date would be the 10 September, 1720.
Cheers, Liz
Also found a much later death date (1809) for (Hunsaker-45) on Family Search. Not sure about any of this, so could use some help. Thanks.
