Biography

James was born in 1820. He was the son of Josiah Hunt and Helen Decresey Smith, his second wife. He married Sarah Frances in 1845, in New Jersey. They lived most of their lives in Brooklyn, NY. In the NY state census of 1865 he and his family are listed in the 15th Ward in Brooklyn.

He died in May of 1903 at the age of 83.
