Biography

Josiah was born in 1760 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He first married Sarah Miller in 1785. After Sarah died he married Hester aka Ester DeCresey Smith in 1807. They had twelve children, two died young.

Elliott S born 1819, registered for the Civil War draft in 1863.


Josiah served in the New Jersey regiment in the Revolutionary War.

Josiah died in Elizabeth,New Jersey in 1841.buried the in First Presbyterian Churchyard, Elizabeth, NJ.
