Biography
This profile is part of the Wheatley, Oxfordshire One Place Study.
Jane was baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Wheatley, Oxfordshire on 29th April 1839.[1] She was the daughter of Richard Hunt and Elizabeth Russell. Her father stated on the register that he was a shoemaker. Jane was baptised on the same day as her sibling Mary, and a note was made on the register for both girls that they were baptised privately due to illness.
In the 1841 census Jane (age 4) was living with her parents and siblings in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England.[2]
In the 1851 census Jane (age 13) was living with her widowed mother in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England. Jane's mother was recorded as being an infant school teacher and Jane was presumably assisting her mother as despite her young age she also had her occupation recorded as 'teacher'. [3]
Jane died aged 17 years old in 1854 and was buried on 17 December 1854 in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England.[4]
