Biography

William was born in 1833. He was christened on 13 Oct 1833 at the parish in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of John Hunt , a gardener, and Sarah Norford. They lived in New Park. ^[1]

In 1841, according to the England Census, William was 7 years old and living with his parents and 4 siblings on New Park in New Forest, Hampshire, England. ^[2]

In about 1846 his parents and siblings emigrated to Australia. His father was a farmer and gardener in Malvern, Victoria, Australia.^[3]

On 8 Jan 1857 William married Frances Varyer at the School House in Prahran, Victoria, Australia. The couple were both members of the United Church. The marriage was completed by licenses. ^[4]

The couple had 9 children during their marriage.

William passed away in 1919 in Ormond, Victoria, Australia at the age of 86 years.^[5] He was laid to rest at the Box Hill Cemetery, Whitehorse City in Plot CE 0449. ^[6]
