He was a dairy farmer when he and Hazel appeared on the census of 9 April 1940 at Henderson, Jefferson County, New York.
He was in attendance when Marshall Forrest was the host of the
Baxter Family Reunion held on 19 Aug. 1951 near Coventry, New York. He and Hazel were the the hosts of the Baxter Reunion on 17 Aug. 1952 at Harpursville, Broome County, New York.
Earl died on 11 Feb. 1962 at
Binghamton, Broome County, New York and was buried at  Chenango Valley Cemetery, Binghamton, Broome County, New York. His memorial has a photo of his headstone.
